Reuse. Repurpose. Reimagine your space.
Rivesto = to redress, to coat, to clothe.
Sourcing ‘objets’ to redress and reinterpret your space with an element of the unexpected and dreamy escapism, the Rivesto selection is a play of aesthetics, form, material, and colour that sit effortlessly in diverse spaces. Inspiration comes from the quietly undone beauty found in imperfection and that romantic notion of continuing the lifespan of pieces that are imbued with history. Many pieces have been found in a palazzo or country home in Puglia, some never used whilst others have that magical patina that comes from daily use and the passing of time.
I am always fascinated by the unique ways in which these found objects, that continue to tell a story, can be reused and repurposed in a modern setting. With a focus on ceramics from the southern Italian region, these extraordinary pieces can be appreciated artistically due to their beauty yet are functional and practical at their core. Central to the Rivesto philosophy is sustainability and circularity, pieces crafted to last and be treasured, and ultimately to be passed on as they have been for hundreds of years.
I hope you enjoy the journey and can continue the storytelling.

A vintage hand-thrown amphora typical of the Puglia region of Italy, traditionally used to keep wine fresh for the farmers working the land. The large rustic vessel features a beautifully hand crafted spherical body and its twisted handles are a fluid extension of the spout, created for easy grip. The raw clay is contrasted by the sunflower yellow glaze on top - this was added for hygiene purposes, so it could be wiped clean after use, rather than simply decorative. This charming mid-century piece has a raw surface texture that highlights the passing of time and years of daily use. What makes this ceramic wine vessel a rare find is the matching amphora as seen in the images - the perfect pieces to add some southern Italian farmhouse charm to any space.

An antique vessel with two handles that dates back to the early 1900s. Originating from Grottaglie in southern Puglia, and called ‘pitale’ in local dialect, it was used primarily for storing olive oil. The contents could be easily extracted with a ladle due to its wider opening and no ‘neck’. This rustic pot did not have a lid, instead a ceramic plate of the same diameter was commonly placed on top. During the winter months the large handmade pot was often used for conserving dried figs. The outer main body of the farmhouse vessel was usually left unglazed or partially glazed, whilst it was glazed internally for storing the liquid or food contents. This charming piece of local history features a sunflower yellow glaze around the top half with drips on the side that give the pot its immense character. The half glaze was applied for hygiene purposes to be wiped clean after use, rather than decorative. It has an organic surface which has eroded beautifully over time and that magic patina that only years of daily use and the passing of time can bring about authentically. Today this handcrafted vessel would be ideal as a vase for fresh flowers or as a decorative piece adding some Mediterranean charm to any home.
