Antique 2-Handle Vase with Mustard Lip 2

€160.00
Sold

An antique hand-thrown vase with two handles dating back to the early 1900s. Originating from Puglia, this charming piece would have been used as a confit pot - preserving foods such as anchovies, sardines or olives in olive oil for the family. The vasetto features a wonderful mustard glaze internally, which can be seen around the outer lip of the vessel. The colour combination of this rich mustardy yellow contrasting with the buttermilk cream external glaze makes the vase all the more unique. Today, this ceramic farmhouse-style pot would be ideal as vase for fresh flowers especially when pared with the matching confit pot as seen in the images.

Found in Lecce

the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.

Dimensions: H26.5cm x W20cm x D18cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
