A one-of-a-kind hand thrown amphora originating from the southern Italian region of Calabria that was primarily used to hold wine. Dating back to the early 1800s, this antique amphora is from the Calabrese town of Seminara - known for its age old ceramic craft and tradition. What makes this amphora stand out is the elongated form with its elegant handles and iridescent deep green glaze. It also features the initials ‘DA’, which could belong to the potter or its owner, who would have brought this ceramic wine flask with him whilst working the fields.
