The large vase also has a fluted spout, commonly associated with ceremonial vessels used for holy water or wine in southern Italy. The two-handled vessel is an impressive historic example of this kind of vasetto utilised in the Puglia region in particular for religious occasions. The antique vase is especially unique due to its large proportions and elegant form, as well as the mesmerising glaze, highlighting the skill of the artisan/potter.
