Antique hand-thrown jug with a lovely floral motif and eyes that are hand painted to ward off evil, rendering it particularly unique. Wine and water jugs from Puglia usually have the most extensive decorations and this one from the San Pietro in Lama area, dates back to the late 1800s. This original piece has a unique surface texture and glaze in an ivory colour with its decorative splashes of varying hues of blue. Today, this wonderful piece with its truly one of a kind pattern would be ideal as a vase for fresh flowers or as a decorative display piece.
