Antique Iridescent Glaze Amphora

€125.00
Sold

An exquisitely hand thrown terracotta amphora in a rich, iridescent glaze. This small, antique amphora has a very elegant form with its unique squared body shape and ridged handles, and was originally made to store water or wine for farmers on the land. This one in particular is the ideal collectible piece due to its compact size, and is particularly unique to the Salento town of Lucugnano which is known for this darker-hued glaze and refined style. Why not complete the set with the other matching pieces including pots, vases and jars from the Lucugnano area.

Found in Lucugnano

a small town in Salento known for its terracotta craft.

Dimensions: H20cm x W13cm x D11cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
