Sold

A beautifully formed hand thrown terracotta pot whose particular iridescent dark glaze is unique to the Salento town of Lucugnano. This antique piece dating back to the late 1800s is made of terracotta and has wonderful glaze that changes colour as it hits the light from deep burgundy to orange to purple. The considered design with its elegant shape and handles make it a real pleasure to hold as well as to look at. Historically used to store food, today this rustic jug can be used for fresh flowers or as a decorative display piece.

Found in Lucugnano

a small town in the Salento famous for its terracotta pottery.

Dimensions: H20cm x W25cm x D19.5cm
