A one of a kind ceramic bottle dating back to the early 1800s and originating from the southern Italian region of Puglia. Originally made to hold olive oil, this antique vessel represents the finest and most expensive kind of domestic pottery of the region, known as ‘robba bianca’. With its soft buttermilk hue, the hand crafted bottiglia was produced with a pewter glaze and twice fired. The rare piece features its original wooden stopper and that magic patina that only daily use and the passing of time can bring about authentically. The historic example with its creamy hue would be ideal as a decorative display piece adding some Mediterranean charm to any home or space. Create impact when pared with the matching farmhouse pottery from southern Italy, as seen in the images.
