Sold

An antique terracotta bowl with a mesmerising swirl glaze of vivid green and maroon set against a buttermilk base. The centrepiece has an elevated pedestal, robust form, and stylised handles. Dating back to the late 1800s, the ‘zuppiera’ or terrine shows signs of being a well loved domestic piece of pottery with its truly unique patina. Today it would make an ideal fruit bowl on a kitchen table or a decorative display piece adding style to any kitchen or table setting.

Found in Lecce

the Baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.

Dimensions: H14cm x W27cm x D24cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
