Antique Rectangular Ceramic Planter with 3D Flower 1– Puglia, Italy

€180.00

A rare early-20th-century Puglian ceramic planter with an unusual rectangular form and a charming three-dimensional flower motif. Traditional rectangular flower planters like this were commonly used on balconies and terraces, and were often left largely unglazed.

This particularly distinctive example features a gently scalloped rim, decorative indented detailing around the edges and a raised flower motif on one side. Two drainage holes, positioned at either end, reflect its original practical purpose as a garden or balcony planter.

Hand thrown and naturally aged, the ceramic has developed a beautiful rustic patina through exposure to the elements and the passing of time. At 49 cm wide, it makes an impressive architectural planter for a balcony, terrace, garden or interior setting.

A matching rectangular planter with a floral design is also available, making the pair especially effective when displayed together.
