Antique Rustic Pharmacy Vase

€190.00

A charmingly rustic vase historically used for pharmaceuticals and originates from the southern Italian region of Puglia. Dating back to the late 1800s, this hand thrown ceramic vessel was used to store herbs and spices and ointments for medicinal purposes. The ceramic vase features a creamy glaze and wonderful patina that is consistent with age and use, showing signs of wear and giving the jar its unique character. Today, this hand thrown vase with its wonderful form would be an ideal vessel for fresh flowers or to add some farmhouse charm to any home or space. Create an impactful display with the pharmacy jars in varying sizes, as seen in the images.

Found in Ostuni

the charming hilltop town of the valle d’Itria known as the la città bianca (or ‘white city’).

Dimensions: H19.5cm x W13.5cm x D13.5cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen. To utilise as vases, it is recommended to use a separate internal water vase or vials for live stems.
