A vibrantly glazed terracotta pot with lid and two side handles that originates from the southern Italian region of Calabria. Dating back to the early 1800s, this historic example would have been originally used for storing the all important mother yeast for a family. The hand thrown ceramic vessel has a beautifully iridescent sunshine yellow glaze which makes it particularly rare (as these pots were usually found in a green hue). It features that magical patina brought about from years of daily use and the passing of time.
