Large Antique Hand Painted Bowl
An extra large statement making antique bowl originating from the southern Italian region of Puglia. What makes this piece extra special is the graphic hand painted linear design in cobalt blue, set against a glossy buttermilk glaze base. Dating back to the early 1900s, this extra large bowl is a unique example of local domestic pottery, and would have taken pride of place in a family home and primarily used to serve a family during meal times. The hand crafted ceramic bowl has that magical patina that can only be brought about authentically by the passing of time and years of daily use. This hand thrown piece would make a lovely addition to the kitchen bench top or table setting, adding some country charm to any space.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H7cm x W40cm x D39cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
