This large antique bowl or ‘coppa’ is a rare find and originates from the southern Italian region of Calabria. Dating back to the mid 1800s, it features a wonderful deep green external glaze with an internal yellow hue. The hand thrown ceramic bowl was originally used by families for everyday life, most likely as a serving dish during mealtimes. The farmhouse-style piece has that magical patina that only the passing of time and daily use can bring about authentically. Today, the large statement-making bowl would be ideal as table centrepiece and as a fruit and vegetable bowl, injecting some southern Italian charm to any kitchen or dining space.
