The ivory pottery known as ‘robba bianca’ represents the finest kind of ‘ceramica rustica’, produced with a pewter glaze and twice fired, and is the most expensive of this rural ceramic. Traditionally this large handmade bowl would have been in daily use at meal times, often with the family eating off the same plate. The antique rustic piece is rendered all the more unique thanks to its rustic patina brought about authentically by years of daily use and the passing of time.
