A large antique bowl with a scalloped edge and hand applied willow pattern. With its elegant proportions and pearlescent glaze, the bowl’s uniqueness comes from its brown sepia-coloured Chinoiserie landscape scene using the transfer printed method - rather than the blue colour-way more commonly found on Transferware. This charming bowl dates back to the early 1800s, and with its refined quality it would have taken pride of place in a family’s home. It also features a green crest at the bottom as seen in the images which is most likely the Italian retailer’s stamp and not the potters. The unique piece has that magical rustic patina brought about authentically from years of daily use and the passing of time.
