The antique pot originates from the Pugliese town of Grottaglie, well known for its age-old ceramic craft and tradition. This type of ivory ceramic is commonly called ‘robba bianca’ in southern Italy, and represents the finest kind of ‘ceramica rustica’, produced with a pewter glaze and is twice fired.
