Vintage Hand Painted Floral Jug 2

€140.00

A wonderfully exuberant jug historically used for wine and originating from Abruzzo, Italy. This vintage jug dating back to the mid 1900s has a beautifully rendered floral motif which is testament to the superior brushwork of the artist/potter. The vintage pitcher has been hand painted in hues of blue, plum, mustard and green, with accents of ink blue, set against the iridescent white glaze. The charming hand painted floral motif and colours used are a common characteristic of jugs, plates and bowls of this southern Italian region. The hand thrown ceramic jug with its pinched spout and classic Mediterranean form, would make a lovely addition to the kitchen and would create an impactful table setting when pared with the matching jugs and plate as seen in the photos.

Found in Ostuni

the charming hilltop town of the valle d’Itria known as ‘la città bianca’ (or white city).

Dimensions: H20.5cm x W15cm x D12.5cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen. To utilise as vases, it is recommended to use a separate internal water vase or vials for live stems.
