€170.00
Sold

A delightful terracotta vase called ‘pigna’ (or pine cone), originating from the Sicilian town of Caltagirone, known for its ceramic tradition. The ‘pigna’, in various forms, is found in every home of the region to bring good health, good luck and prosperity. This finely made vintage vase has a lovely iridescent glaze - with the varying shades of brown, mustard and deep greens mixing together to give it a charming energy. This unique piece would make a fantastic injection of colour to any home - and perfect as a vase or simply as a decorative display piece.

Found in Ostuni

the charming hilltop town of the valle d’Itria, known as the ‘città bianca’ (or white city).

Dimensions: H26cm x W18cm x D18cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
