A hand made terracotta plate with its distinctive sgraffito adornment representing the sun is likely of Calabrese origin. Its enchanting splatter effect glaze of green, mustard yellow and buttermilk makes it a truly unique piece. The vintage plate comes with built-in holes at the back for wall mount, to perfectly display the unique plate. The old terracotta pottery from southern regions of Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria, like this plate, have a lovely handmade, rustic feel and were used primarily for everyday, domestic use - however this plate with its back holes for mounting (as seen in images) was made to be on display and appreciated. This vintage plate would make a lovely addition to any home as a decorative display piece or functioning plate for fresh fruit, injecting a pop of colour to any space. Complete the set and create a captivating visual display with the matching plate, as seen in the images.
