Small Vintage Calabrese Amphora
A unique vintage amphora in a glossy glaze and vivacious colour combination. Dating back to the mid 1900s, it would have been originally made to store wine and keep it fresh. This vintage mid-century piece of pottery originates from Seminara - a town in Calabria famous for its age old ceramic craft and tradition. The wonderful colour combination of mustard yellow at the top and pistachio green at the base, are common hues of ceramics from Seminara. This small hand-thrown ceramic amphora has a bold sculptural form with ridges across the body and unique handles that are an extension of the spout. This vintage vessel would be perfect as a bud vase or simply decorative, adding a splash of colour and Mediterranean charm to any home or space.
Found in Lecce
the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.
Dimensions: H15cm x W15cm x D13cm
These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
