x3 Vintage Wall Mounted Hooks by Antonio D'Andrea

€390.00
Sold

This rare set of x3 wall mounted hooks, handmade by revered Lecce artist, Antonio D’Andrea, were originally intended to display decorative plates. They have a whimsical art deco feel that he is famous for with their jovial central sunflower and super delicate scrolls, testament to his skill as a metalwork artist. D’Andrea was most prolific during the 1930s and 1940s creating some of the city’s most inspired lighting, window screens, gates and doorways, as well as interior detailing, for the city’s most important churches, palazzi, and villas. His work is recognisable by his signature green reminiscent of verdigris, the incredible design details inspired by both local and exotic flora and fauna, as well as his ability to give forged iron movement and a lightness never seen before. These vintage plate holders/wall mounted hooks are versatile enough that they can be used to hang decorative plates, pictures, kitchen utensils or used as coat hooks. They would be ideal paired with the Antonio D’Andrea candle holder listed.

Found in Lecce

the baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.

Dimensions: All 3 / H30cm x W17cm x D1.5cm

These are handmade antique pieces that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
