XL Antique Bowl by S.C. Richard

€150.00
Sold

A rare, extra-large ceramic bowl in a lacquered ivory glaze made by S.C. Richard (Società Ceramica by Richard). The antique piece has an elegant spherical and minimal form, and dates back to the late 1800s. Founded in Milan in 1873, the Società Ceramica Richard merged with Ginori in 1896 - and went on to become one of Italy’s most productive and prestigious names in ceramics. This large antique bowl in particular has the S.C. Richard back stamp of a Gryphon with the Milanese flag and shield (without any reference to Ginori and therefore dating it pre-1896). S Cristoforo indicates the original location of the company, which in the 18th century was just outside the Lombard capital. Today this streamlined piece would be ideal as a fruit bowl, or as a decorative display piece, adding style to any kitchen or table setting.

Found in Lecce

the Baroque jewel and capital of the Salento.

Dimensions: H12cm x W37cm x D37cm

These are handmade antique ceramics that are perfectly imperfect and some have been used for generations, so please expect some cracks, and chips, and discolouration. These individual characteristics are part of the charm and unique quality of each piece. Please note, colour may vary from screen to screen.
